About the role
You will lead service design on one or more high-volume public services: research with users and front-line officers, map the journey end to end, and design the service — content, forms, decisions and exceptions — with the institution responsible for it.
What you would do
- Plan and lead user research, including with people who face barriers to using digital services
- Map services end to end, including offline and back-office steps
- Design and test service journeys with real users before build begins
- Work with policy and legal colleagues where a change requires more than technology
- Write findings in plain language for both officials and the public
What we are looking for
- Demonstrated experience designing complex services, ideally in the public or regulated sector
- Practical research experience with users of varied literacy and access
- Working knowledge of accessibility requirements (WCAG 2.1 AA)
- Ability to work in English; Sinhala and/or Tamil an advantage
